- Design and Fabrication of Robotic Visual Inspection & Measurement Systems
Farand Systems has successfully designed and produced several types of visual inspection systems for pipe and tunnel inspection in a variety of applications. PIKA-X2 is the latest generation of the pipe inspection lineage which has been designed in Farand Systems and is currently in use in different branches of industry. These robotic systems can capture live images of hardly accessible spaces and are capable of performing measurements and doing predefined missions. Welding inspection in oil and gas industry, integrity testing of water pipe-lines in sewage and drinking water grids and tunnel and mine 3D surveying are some of the applications of our robotic visual inspection systems.s
- Imaging and Image Processing Systems
Design and fabrication of high speed cameras and real-time image processing systems are one of the mainstream activities in Farand Systems. These cameras can be used in applications where object tracking, object recognition and study and control of fast moving objects is required. Farand Systems has also produced image based high precision position measurement systems including 3D position measurement using stereo imaging. As an example such systems have wide applications in measurement of probe position in surgery or tracking pilot’s head movements which are both essential inputs to any virtual reality or augmented reality simulator.
- Instrumentation and Test Equipment
This branch of the company is devoted to laboratory equipment. A wide variety of lab equipment for applications such as Geophysics, Geotechnics, Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics and Chemical Engineering are designed and produced in Farand Systems. Additionally, our company has produced a range of laser equipment e.g. laser sheets which find applications in motion analysis in Physics laboratories. - Power Inverter and Distributor Systems
Field application of electronic equipment requires the use of a secure and reliable electric power source. Farand Systems has produced portable Electric Power Inverters which can be used in a wide range of field applications. Using these inverters, conventional car batteries can be used to supply a multitude of AC appliances in the field. Additionally, Farand Systems has designed and produced an Electric Power Distributor which can be programmed to distribute and control various battery operated systems simultaneously. These electric power consumers include electric components in vehicles, boats and ships and hard to reach stations.s
